My training philosophy extends beyond the realm of mere running. I firmly believe that success is a culmination of various elements. Happiness takes precedence, followed by achieving balance, and then, running. Drawing from my personal running journey, I’ve realized that cultivating happiness and achieving life balance are pivotal factors that significantly contribute to overall success. While running remains an integral part of training, we must also focus on nurturing our mental well-being and personal growth.

In my approach, I aim to meet individuals where they currently are and collaborate with them to formulate a flexible and personalized training plan. Recognizing that a deeper understanding of my athletes enhances my coaching effectiveness, I prioritize open communication. This communication is crucial to tailor the training regimen to each individual’s unique needs. Whether an athlete is grappling with a minor injury, facing an unexpectedly long workday, or encountering any other challenges, I am committed to providing support and ensuring their well-being.

I am dedicated to pushing athletes beyond their limits, holding them accountable, and enabling them to reflect proudly on their accomplishments. Witnessing athletes reach their goal times or excel in challenging workouts brings me immense joy. Additionally, the connections formed with individuals on their personal journeys are incredibly rewarding. Together, we can all achieve more!

With any of the 3 coaching services, you’ll begin by completing a training questionnaire, followed by an onboarding consultation with your coach.
 
All service options include a Final Surge account to access your training through the desktop or the mobile app; included is an option to sync your GPS watch to import your daily runs.
 
The Bronze-level Custom Training Plan is a one-time purchase based on the number of training weeks you select. After your onboarding consultation, your coach will prescribe all your training at once.
 
The Silver-level Adaptive Weekly Training is a monthly subscriptionYour coach will prescribe your training on a weekly basis rather than all at once. They will be tracking your workout progress and comments to adapt your training week by week. In addition, you’ll be able to chat with your coach along the way in case you have any questions about workouts.
 
With Gold-level Personal Coaching, you’ll be upgraded to full communication with your coach, including weekly Zoom or phone calls as needed. During these calls, you’ll share feedback about the prior week’s training and your coach will help prep you for the upcoming week. In addition, your coach will assist with all aspects of race planning, preparation, strategy and recovery.

Emily Venters

Emily’s running journey spans over a decade, commencing at the age of 13. A former competitive swimmer, she transitioned into running during her freshman year of high school. Winning the Kansas 6A cross country title as a freshman solidified her passion for running, leading her to steadfastly pursue the sport.

Throughout high school, Emily dominated both cross country and track, clinching multiple state championships. She also earned national qualifications for NXN in the heartland region and participated in the Brooks PR Invitational in 2017. Her success continued into collegiate running, starting at Boise State and concluding at the University of Utah. Emily boasts an impressive list of achievements, including 5x All-American honors (2 in XC, 3 in Track), securing the NCAA D1 runner-up spot in the women’s 10k (2023), recording the 6th fastest 10k time in collegiate history (31:48), and representing Team USA on multiple occasions. Concluding her NCAA eligibility in the summer, she signed her inaugural professional contract with Nike and currently competes for Nike and the Union Athletics Club in Portland, Oregon. While presently focusing on the 10k, Emily harbors ambitious aspirations to transition to the marathon in the years ahead.

Beyond running, Emily finds joy in music, rock climbing, cooking, and coaching. Her love for travel, whether for pleasure or running, is evident. A notable aspect of Emily’s story is her triumph over childhood cancer; having faced Leukemia at a young age, she believes it instilled remarkable strength and resilience within her.
