Coach's Accomplishments

Training Style

As a professional athlete myself, I understand the importance of discipline over motivation. I believe that anyone can lace up their shoes and step outside for a run with discipline every single day. I also believe in the importance of enjoying the process rather than focusing on the end goal. If you enjoy the day-to-day process of bettering yourself through this sport, I believe you can achieve great things, and have a lot more fun doing so. If you’re not quite there yet, I will strive to help you fall in love with the process and make sure we work around your schedule and realistic expectations to build a personalized training plan! Let’s get to work!

Simone Plourde

Simone’s running journey began by signing up to local road races with her dad, with the only goal in mind to beat him. Her competitive nature has kept her in the sport all these years. From wishing to beat her dad in a 5k to wanting to become the fastest middle-distance runner in Canada, she’s always strived for greatness and wishes to better herself everyday through this sport. Most importantly, the connections she’s made and social circle she’s created in the sport has led her to become the athlete she is today. Passionate runner and avid learner, her running journey has been nothing short of adventurous. She left her home in Montreal, Canada to hop on the NCAA Division 1 program in 2020 for three years, training at altitude for the first time.

Her time on the NCAA allowed her to PR in every single event and become a 4x All-American. She went from owning PRs of 4min25 in the 1500m to running 4min06 within three years. She ran her first 5000m in April 23 with a time of 15min21. She finished 4th at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships in 2023 in the 3000m and ran a personal best of 8min53 in the 3000m that year. In May 23, she graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She made her first national team last summer, representing Canada in Budapest at the World Championships in the 1500m. She is now running professionally for Nike with Union Athletics Club in Portland, Oregon and aspires to represent Canada next summer at the 2024 Olympics.

Outside of running, Simone is passionate about skiing. Prior to running, she was a competitive downhill skier for 10+ years. In her free time, Simone also enjoys yoga, discovering new music as well as traveling.
